I am so obsessed with these maternity portraits I captured in the fall of last year. This beautiful couple is my cousin and her husband and when I saw she was expecting I reached out to her to see if she would let me practice maternity posing with her. Maternity photography is a little more tricky because most women don’t want to draw attention to their bellies but maternity portraits are all about keeping the body flattering and really focusing on the beautiful growing belly. They live in the northwest and were willing to make the drive to my absolute favorite location at Wetlands Park.
It is always so much fun to see family and I loved every minute of spending time with these two. He was a riot, as you will see in the pictures, and had me laughing the entire time. These two are so in love with each other and their love just shows in every one of these images. She is, of course, gorgeous and her hair has these perfect ringlets that I am 100% jealous of but above that, she is literally the kindest person in the entire world. Seriously.
Typically clients want to include their child’s name in the maternity pictures but these two were keeping their lips sealed on the babies name, so instead they incorporated the inspiration for the name. They chose a name from the book Catcher in the Rye and I loved how we captured not only the inspiration for the name but also their love for each other in these maternity portraits!
Seriously, don’t you just love these two and want to hang out with them? Such genuinely beautiful people.
