Today I decided to practice more window lighting with three of my four kids. The baby was down for a nap and the lighting was gorgeous in my living room. I am also working more on getting things right straight out of camera and have decided to completely ignore the image on my screen, but to always check the histogram to make sure the exposure is spot on. I had been consistently getting underexposed pictures and then having to brighten them up in Photoshop. I have found that since I have been only checking the histogram I am consistently getting the exposure spot on and I couldn’t be happier, because getting it right in camera means less editing time and more time with the family! Here is todays image, with very minimal adjustments – like a boost in contrast and sharpening.
So funny story about my youngest, I took a photo of him the other day without his shirt on so now whenever I get out the camera he instantly removes his shirt – that kid sure knows how to crack me up!
