Are you ready for page 7 of our gratitude journal? Today’s page is a bit more work to put together but I think it will be a nice addition to our gratitude journal. Today, I will walk you through how I set up the page to make it easier for you.
The first thing you need is to DOWNLOAD page 7
After you download the file open it in the Silhouette software. The first thing you are going to do is decide whether or not you are going to hand write or type your favorite fall recipe on the recipe insert. If you choose to type your recipe it is super easy to do in the Silhouette Software.
First, click on the text icon on the left hand side of the screen so it brings up your text box.
I am using the font – KG Beneath Your Beautiful, it a free font that you can find here. Select the font you are going to use then click down and type the name of the recipe. Silhouette only types outlines in order for you to cut, but we want to type this in order to print it. In order to do that after your type your recipe name, select the move tool and then open up the fill bucket at the top of the screen and fill in the type with the color of your choice. I am using the first brown on the top row to fill in the type. Continue this process as you fill out the recipe.
After you finish filling out the recipe card it is time to print. Open the page set up window and set the paper size of what you will be printing on. I am printing on 12×12 textured cardstock so my settings are for a 12×12 page. If you are printing on an 8.5 x 11 paper then you will need to adjust the setting accordingly. Next, open up the registration marks window. Move the items you are printing into the non grayed out areas. then after checking your printer settings are set to the right page size simply print, then cut. Make sure you cut in a well lit area to ensure the Silhouette can find the registration marks.
After you cut each piece score the pocket on the dashed line – then first, glue the back piece to the back of the I am thankful page and then glue the pocket down. Embellish as you like and insert the fall recipe into the pocket.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and loved the page!
